In Friday's non-league bout, the Sabine Cardinals (Gladewater, TX) baseball squad trounced the visiting Harleton Wildcats (Harleton, TX), by a count of 9-1.

The Cardinals now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union Grove for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 7. Sabine will clash with a Lions team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Como-Pickton (Como, TX). The Lions record now stands at 3-2.

With the defeat, Harleton drops to 10-4 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Waskom (Waskom, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a 2A Region III District 19 challenge on Tuesday, March 10. The Wildcats go into the challenge with a record of 3-5. Waskom won 7-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Joaquin (Joaquin, TX)
