The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the West Ashley Wildcats (Charleston, SC) and the visiting Berkeley Stags (Moncks Corner, SC), observed West Ashley's softball team get by Berkeley by a tally of 3-2.

The Wildcats (1-0) will now prepare for their bout against Colleton County (Walterboro, SC). The Cougars go into the non-league bout with a 3-3 record. In their last bout, Colleton County tipped Woodland (Dorchester, SC), 11-4, in a non-league bout.

Next up, the Stags face the Goose Creek Gators (Goose Creek, SC) in a AAAAA Region 7 contest, on Tuesday, March 10. Berkeley will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Gators enter the contest with a 0-1 record after their 13-11 non-league loss to Myrtle Beach (Myrtle Beach, SC).
