The Salpointe Catholic Lancers edged the visiting El Modena Vanguards softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Lancers play the La Habra Highlanders (La Habra, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, March 7. Salpointe Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 5-2 season record. The Highlanders enter the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Cibola (Albuquerque, NM).
The Vanguards (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against El Toro (Lake Forest, CA). The Chargers come into the non-league battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, El Toro was tipped by Orange Lutheran (Orange, CA), 3-2, in a non-league battle.
