Franklin County Lions (Carnesville, GA) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Lions confront the Oconee County Warriors (Watkinsville, GA) in a 3A Area 8 challenge, on Tuesday, March 14. Franklin County will attempt to better on its 7-2 season record.

The Purple Hurricanes now have a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they host Social Circle for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 10. Monroe Area will confront a Redskins team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Strong Rock Christian (Locust Grove, GA). The Redskins record now stands at 4-5.
