The Independence Patriots softball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting South Mountain Jaguars to 1 in the Patriots non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Independence moves its record to 1-2 on the year. The Patriots travel to Copper Canyon (Glendale, AZ) to play the Aztecs in a 5A Central Valley game on Tuesday, March 21. The Aztecs come into the game with a record of 3-3.

In their next game, the Jaguars play the Glendale Cardinals (Glendale, AZ) in a non-league game, on Thursday, March 9. South Mountain will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Cardinals come into the game with a 3-5 record after their 16-0 non-league loss to Fairfax (Laveen, AZ).
