Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Iowa Yellowjackets (Iowa, LA), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Tors now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Iberia for a 5A District 3 challenge on Thursday, March 30.

With the loss, Iowa falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Cecilia (Cecilia, LA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Cecilia lost 8-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Sacred Heart (Ville Platte, LA)
