The Rio Hondo Bobcats softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Port Isabel Tarpons to 4 in the Bobcats non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Rio Hondo improves its record to 12-6 on the year. The Bobcats travel to Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX) to clash with the Falcons in a non-league game on Friday, March 10. The Falcons come into the game with a record of 18-3. Los Fresnos won 12-2 in their recent non-league game against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)

In their next game, the Tarpons clash with the Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 32 game, on Friday, March 10. Port Isabel will attempt to improve on its 3-10 season record. The Hawks come into the game with a 3-7 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to La Joya (La Joya, TX).
