In Thursday's non-league outing, the Astoria Fishermen (Astoria, OR) basketball squad edged the visiting Stayton Eagles (Stayton, OR), by a count of 54-49.
The Fishermen (21-4) will now prepare for their outing against Cascade (Turner, OR). The Cougars go into the non-league outing with a 19-7 record. In their last outing, Cascade held off Klamath Union (Klamath Falls, OR), 51-28, in a non-league outing.
The Eagles now hold a 19-5 record. They play next when they travel to Klamath Union for a non-league outing on Friday, March 8. Stayton will clash with a Pelicans squad coming off a 51-28 non-league loss to Cascade (Turner, OR). The Pelicans record now stands at 18-4.
