The Maize South Mavericks (Wichita, KS) basketball nipped the host Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints (Overland Park, KS), 55-52 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Mavericks (23-1) will now prepare for their test against Emporia (Emporia, KS). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 25-1 record. In their last test, Emporia got by Bishop Carroll (Wichita, KS), 38-35, in a non-league test.
The Saints now own a 13-7 record.
