Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC), 14-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Iredell for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 8. Alexander Central will face a Vikings squad coming off a 6-2 league loss to Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Cannon falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC) to face the Buccaneers in a NCISAA Charlotte challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
