North Iredell Raiders (Olin, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC), 12-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host West Iredell for a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 12. North Iredell will face a Warriors squad coming off a 10-6 non-league loss to Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Carson falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC) to face the Knights in a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Lake Norman Charter lost 16-0 in their recent league challenge against East Rowan (Salisbury, NC)
