The Landry Buccaneers routed the visiting L.W. Higgins Hurricanes softball squad by a final score of 16-1 in Thursday's league battle.
The Buccaneers (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Academy of Our Lady (Marrero, LA). The Penguins go into the 4A District 10 battle with a 9-4 record. In their last battle, Academy of Our Lady notched a victory over Zachary (Zachary, LA), 7-4, in a non-league battle.
The Hurricanes now possess a 0-7 record. They play next when they host A.J. Ellender for a non-league battle on Friday, March 8. L.W. Higgins will confront a Patriots squad coming off a 16-4 league loss to Assumption (Napoleonville, LA). The Patriots record now stands at 3-6.
