Northwest Guilford Vikings (Greensboro, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host North Davidson Black Knights (Lexington, NC), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Grimsley for a Metro 4A challenge on Friday, March 8. Northwest Guilford will face a Whirlies squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Southeast Guilford (Greensboro, NC). The Whirlies record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, North Davidson falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Black knights travel to Western Alamance (Elon, NC) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 8. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Western Alamance won 9-7 in their recent league challenge against Person (Roxboro, NC)
