Sumner Stingrays (Riverview, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Plant City Raiders (Plant City, FL), 9-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Stingrays now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Strawberry Crest for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Sumner will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 12-11 league win over Newsome (Lithia, FL). The Chargers record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Plant City falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Raiders host Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 8. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. Montverde Academy lost 6-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs, FL)
