The Pirates now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Kilgore for a 4A Region II District 16 test on Tuesday, March 11. Pine Tree will clash with a Bulldogs team coming off a 4-4 non-league Melissa (Melissa, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-13.

With the defeat, Athens drops to 3-8 on the year. The Hornets host Eustace (Eustace, TX) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Friday, March 7. The Bulldogs go into the test with a record of 3-6. Eustace lost 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Mildred (Corsicana, TX)
