The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Mesquite Skeeters (Mesquite, TX) and the host Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX), saw Mesquite's baseball team gain a win over Poteet by a tally of 4-1.

The Skeeters (10-1) will now prepare for their battle against West Mesquite (Mesquite, TX). The Wranglers enter the non-league battle with a 2-12 record. In their last battle, West Mesquite held off South Garland (Garland, TX), 4-2, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Pirates face the West Mesquite Wranglers (Mesquite, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 battle, on Tuesday, March 11. Poteet will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record.
