The New Iberia Yellowjackets baseball team scored 15 runs and held the visiting Westgate Tigers to 5 in the Yellowjackets non-league win on Friday.

The Yellowjackets now hold a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they host Comeaux for a 5A District 3 test on Saturday, March 8. New Iberia will play a Spartans team coming off a 17-4 non-league win over Opelousas (Opelousas, LA). The Spartans record now stands at 3-8.

With the defeat, Westgate drops to 0-4 on the year. The Tigers host Westminster Christian Academy (Opelousas, LA) to play the Crusaders in a non-league test on Monday, March 10. The Crusaders go into the test with a record of 5-6. Westminster Christian Academy won 12-5 in their recent non-league test against St. Martinville (St. Martinville, LA)
