In Friday's non-league game, the visiting Sherman Bearcats baseball team scored a nice 17-6 win over the Newman Smith Trojans.
The Bearcats (2-8) will now prepare for their game against McKinney (McKinney, TX). The Lions go into the non-league game with a 7-4 record. In their last game, McKinney knocked off Newman Smith (Carrollton, TX), 6-5, in a non-league game.
Next, the Trojans play the Emerson Mavericks (McKinney, TX) in a non-league game, on Saturday, March 8. Newman Smith will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The Mavericks go into the game with a 6-1 record after their 5-0 non-league win over Braswell (Little Elm, TX).
