Match Summary
Lake Balboa got off to a great start 3-0 in set 1 only to cough it up & trail 3-6 in the next rotation. Lakeview Charter held off the Cougars & led 15-10 until LBCP mounted a charge & closed to 15-16. That's as close as we came as the Lions swept to the finish line behind a 10-5 closing kick. The teams traded points early on in set 2 until Lake Balboa opened a 9-6 lead only to fritter it away at 9 all. Again both teams traded blows with the Cougars up 20-19 only to watch it slip away to 20-21. 21 all gave way to a 4 point collapse for another victory by Lakeview Charter. The teal & black battled valiantly to 10 all before the Lions ran it to 13-11 but the Rocky Balboas again challenged their hosts with a 15-13 lead. The home team lead 19-17 but Lake Balboa closed to 18-19. LC scored 5 unanswered points to take it to match point at 24-19. The Lions held a 1 to 6 ratio to close out the match but the Cougars did a goal line stand fending off 4 match points before losing 23-25.
