The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) and the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), saw Mitchell's baseball team gain a win over Freedom by a tally of 4-1.

The Mountaineers (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans enter the non-league battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, McDowell by R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC), 11-4, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Patriots face the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, March 12. Freedom will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Trojans enter the battle with a 0-1 record after their 23-5 non-league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC).
