The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Karns Beavers (Knoxville, TN) and the visiting Union County Patriots (Maynardville, TN), observed Karns's softball team get by Union County by a tally of 9-7.

The Beavers (2-0) will now prepare for their bout against Hardin Valley Academy (Knoxville, TN). The Hawks go into the non-league bout with a 1-5 record. In their last bout, Hardin Valley Academy tipped Oak Ridge (Oak Ridge, TN), 6-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Patriots clash with the Gibbs Eagles (Corryton, TN) in a 3A District 4 bout, on Wednesday, March 12. Union County will attempt to advance on its 2-1 season record.
