In Saturday's non-league bout, the Vidor Pirates (Vidor, TX) baseball squad overwhelmed the host Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX), by a count of 13-1.

The Pirates now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jasper for a 4A Region III District 18 challenge on Tuesday, March 10. Vidor will clash with a Bulldogs team coming off a 7-3 non-league loss to Kilgore (Kilgore, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-8.

With the defeat, Carthage drops to 4-7 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Liberty-Eylau (Texarkana, TX) to encounter the Leopards in a non-league bout on Saturday, March 14. The Leopards enter the bout with a record of 10-3. Liberty-Eylau won 4-0 in their recent league bout against Hooks (Hooks, TX)
