Falcons and Don’s play to 6-6 tie in North County Tournament
The Torrey Pines Lady Falcons out hit the Cathedral Don’s 8 to 4 but committed four errors and ended up in a 6-6 tie in the third round of the 2022 North County Tournament. Torrey Pines all CIF-2nd team pitcher Georgia Bilski threw a complete game 5 hitter allowing 3 earned runs while striking out 9 for the Falcons who battled back from a 4-2 deficit after 1 frame. The Falcons tied the game at 4 after 3 innings but trailed 6-5 after 4 frames. Torrey tied the game in the 5th and neither team scored after that in the allotted 2 hour time frame. Senior Simone Bertucci went 3-4 with a Single, a Double and a Triple for the Falcons and she drove in 2 runs. Senior captain, Emma Fitzgerald went 2-3 with 2 Doubles 3 runs scored and an RBI for Torrey Pines (6-3-1). Cathedral (3-3-1) will play at La Costa Canyon next while Torrey Pines will host Ramona in the 4th and final round of the 2022 North County Tournament.
