North Carolina High School Baseball - Draughn holds off McDowell

March 8, 2023: Valdese, NC 28690

In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) baseball squad the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), by a margin of 11-7.

With the win, Draughn betters its record to 3-1 on the season. The Wildcats host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to face the Patriots in a non-league bout on Friday, March 10. The Patriots enter the bout with a record of 2-1. Freedom won 10-4 in their recent non-league bout against Patton (Morganton, NC)

Next, the Titans face the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, March 9. McDowell will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Hilltoppers enter the bout with a 3-0 record after their 4-1 non-league win over East Henderson (East Flat Rock, NC).
