Newington Nor'easters (Newington, CT) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Lewis Mills Spartans (Burlington, CT), 48-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newington upgrades its record to 16-5 on the campaign. The Nor'easters travel to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, CT) to play the Warhawks in a non-league bout on Friday, March 10. The Warhawks come into the bout with a record of 19-2. Bloomfield won 84-58 in their recent non-league bout against Masuk (Monroe, CT)
