North Carolina High School Softball - Asheboro knocked off by Union Pines

March 8, 2023: Asheboro, NC 27203

In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) softball team overwhelmed the host Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), by a margin of 18-0.

With the triumph, Union Pines moves its record to 3-2 on the year. The Vikings travel to Jordan-Matthews (Siler City, NC) to play the Jets in a non-league contest on Thursday, March 9. The Jets come into the contest with a record of 1-2. Jordan-Matthews lost 6-0 in their recent non-league contest against Providence Grove (Franklinville, NC)

In their next game, the Blue Comets play the Eastern Randolph Wildcats (Ramseur, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, March 10. Asheboro will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the contest with a 4-0 record after their 13-10 non-league win over Southern Alamance (Graham, NC).
