Hoover Patriots (Fresno, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sierra Chieftains (Tollhouse, CA), 9-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Minarets for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 10. Hoover will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Sanger West (Fresno, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Sierra falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Woodlake (Woodlake, CA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 10. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 4-0. Woodlake won 4-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Roosevelt (Fresno, CA)
