Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Caldwell Hornets (Caldwell, TX) and the visiting Porter Spartans (Porter, TX), witnessed Caldwell's softball squad tip Porter by a count of 6-1.

The Hornets now sport a 6-8 record. They play next when they travel to Taylor for a 4A Region III District 22 match on Friday, March 15. Caldwell will face a Ducks squad coming off a 15-1 non-league loss to Jarrell (Jarrell, TX). The Ducks record now stands at 9-11.

With the loss, Porter moves to 9-6 on the season. The Spartans host Heights (Houston, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Tuesday, March 12. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 13-7.
