Horizon Huskies (Scottsdale, AZ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now sport a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Higley for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 20. Horizon will face a Knights squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Willow Canyon (Surprise, AZ). The Knights record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Verrado falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Vipers host Canyon View (Waddell, AZ) to face the Jaguars in a 5A Desert West challenge on Monday, March 11. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 3-1. Canyon View won 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Notre Dame Prep (Scottsdale, AZ)
