West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Colts now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Monroe for a Rocky River 2A/3A challenge on Tuesday, March 12.

With the loss, North Stanly falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Comets host Union Academy (Monroe, NC) to battle the Cardinals in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 3-1. Union Academy won 7-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC)
