Yorktown Wildcats (Yorktown, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Runge Yellowjackets (Runge, TX), 13-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they host Refugio for a 2A Region IV District 31 challenge on Monday, March 11. Yorktown will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 14-13 league loss to Kenedy (Kenedy, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Runge falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Port Aransas (Port Aransas, TX) to battle the Marlins in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 28. The Marlins enter the challenge with a record of 7-9.
