In Saturday's non-league bout, the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) baseball squad the visiting Corinth Holders Pirates (Wendell, NC), by a score of 8-4.
Next up, the Screaming Eagle encounter the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A bout, on Tuesday, March 11. Ashley will attempt to advance on its 4-0 season record. The Pirates enter the bout with a 4-2 record after their 8-7 non-league win over Wake County HomeSchool (Raleigh, NC).
The Pirates (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against Fuquay - Varina (Fuquay-Varina, NC). The Bengals enter the Greater Neuse River 4A bout with a 3-1 record. In their last bout, Fuquay - Varina edged Lee County (Sanford, NC), 10-0, in a non-league bout.
