The Union County Panthers edged the host Sonoraville Phoenix soccer team by a tally of 2-1 in Saturday's league game.
Next, the Panthers face the North Murray Mountaineers (Chatsworth, GA) in a 2A Area 7 game, on Wednesday, March 12. Union County will attempt to advance on its 4-1 season record. The Mountaineers enter the game with a 3-2 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Christian Heritage (Dalton, GA).
The Phoenix (5-2) will now prepare for their game against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (Fort Oglethorpe, GA). The Warriors enter the 2A Area 7 game with a 4-3 record. In their last game, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was nipped by Coahulla Creek (Dalton, GA), 3-1, in a league game.
