The Northwest Rankin Cougars softball team scored 1 runs and held the visiting Poplarville Hornets to 0 in the Cougars non-league win on Saturday.
The Cougars now possess a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hernando for a non-league battle on Tuesday, March 11. Northwest Rankin will confront a Tigers team coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 11-0.
With the loss, Poplarville moves to 5-5 on the season. The Hornets travel to Moss Point (Moss Point, MS) to confront the Tigers in a 4A Region 8 battle on Tuesday, March 11. The Tigers come into the battle with a record of 3-10. Moss Point won 9-6 in their recent non-league battle against Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS)
