Del Norte Nighthawks (San Diego, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Escondido Cougars (Escondido, CA), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Nighthawks now sport a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they host Fallbrook for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 10. Del Norte will face a Warriors squad coming off a 26-6 non-league win over Guajome Park Academy (Vista, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Escondido falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Cougars host Poway (Poway, CA) to face the Titans in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 11. The Titans enter the challenge with a record of 6-1. Poway won 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, CA)
