The IMG Academy Blue Ascenders baseball team scored 6 runs and limited the visiting Discovery Spartans to 2 in the Ascenders non-league victory on Thursday.
The Ascenders (4-3) will now prepare for their match against Pinellas Park (Largo, FL). The Patriots go into the non-league match with a 0-6 record. In their last match, Pinellas Park was overwhelmed by East Lake (Tarpon Springs, FL), 9-0, in a non-league match.
The Spartans (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Lakeland Christian (Lakeland, FL). The Vikings go into the 2A District 8 match with a 3-3 record. In their last match, Lakeland Christian edged All Saints' Academy (Winter Haven, FL), 12-0, in a non-league match.
