Richmond Raiders (Rockingham, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Hoke County for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 14.

With the loss, Pinecrest falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Montgomery Central (Troy, NC) to face the Timberwolves in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 15. The Timberwolves enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
