The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Stuarts Draft Cougars (Stuarts Draft, VA) and the visiting Spotswood Trailblazers (Penn Laird, VA), saw Stuarts Draft's softball squad nip Spotswood by a count of 4-1.
The Cougars now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central Woodstock for a match on Saturday, March 18.
With the loss, Spotswood falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Trailblazers travel to East Rockingham (Elkton, VA) to face the Eagles in a non-league match on Monday, March 13. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 0-0.
