Wickenburg Wranglers (Wickenburg, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Florence Gophers (Florence, AZ), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wranglers now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host Bourgade Catholic for a 3A North Central challenge on Monday, March 13. Wickenburg will battle a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 4-2 non-league win over American Leadership Academy - Ironwood (Ironwood, AZ). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Florence falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Gophers travel to San Tan Foothills (Queen Creek, AZ) to battle the Sabercats in a 3A South Central challenge on Friday, March 10. The Sabercats enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. San Tan Foothills lost 25-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Scottsdale Christian Academy (Phoenix, AZ)
