St. John's Islanders (John's Island, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting North Charleston Cougars (North Charleston, SC), 20-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Islanders now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Charleston Math & Science for a A Region 8 challenge on Friday, March 10.
With the loss, North Charleston falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Military Magnet Academy (North Charleston, SC) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 13. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
