New Mexico High School Softball - Sandia nudges Valley

March 9, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87110

Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Matadors now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Pius X for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 15. Sandia will face a Sartans squad coming off a 17-9 non-league loss to Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM). The Sartans record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Valley falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM) to face the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 11. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Eldorado lost 16-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM)
