Mayflower Eagles (Mayflower, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Nettleton Raiders (Jonesboro, AR), 11-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bigelow for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 12. Mayflower will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 15-1 non-league win over St. Joseph (Conway, AR). The Panthers record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Nettleton falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Raiders host Greene County Tech (Paragould, AR) to battle the Golden Eagles in a 5A East challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Greene County Tech won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Brookland (Brookland, AR)
