Texas High School Softball - Robstown Mathis

In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Robstown Cottonpickers softball team scored a tight 11-8 win over the Mathis Pirates.

The Cottonpickers (13-9) will now prepare for their match against Zapata (Zapata, TX). The Hawks come into the 4A Region IV District 31 match with a 10-7 record. In their last match, Zapata was routed by San Benito (San Benito, TX), 4-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Pirates confront the George West Longhorns (George West, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 29 match, on Thursday, March 12. Mathis will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Longhorns come into the match with a 9-9 record after their 17-2 non-league loss to Orange Grove (Orange Grove, TX).
