The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Santiago Sharks (Corona, CA) and the host Carlsbad Lancers (Carlsbad, CA), saw Santiago's softball squad nip Carlsbad by a count of 12-5.

The Sharks now sport a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roosevelt for a Big VIII match on Wednesday, April 6. Santiago will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 11-3 non-league win over Bishop Amat (La Puente, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Carlsbad falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Saugus (Saugus, CA) to face the Centurions in a non-league match on Saturday, April 2. The Centurions enter the match with a record of 14-6. Saugus lost 5-2 in their recent non-league match against Notre Dame (Salinas, CA)
