Oakmont Vikings (Roseville, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Davis Blue Devils (Davis, CA), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they host Nevada Union for a Foothill Valley League challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Oakmont will face a Miners squad coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Galt (Galt, CA). The Miners record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Davis falls to 4-11 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Elk Grove (Elk Grove, CA) to face the Thundering Herd in a Delta League challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Thundering Herd enter the challenge with a record of 11-0. Elk Grove won 7-4 in their recent league challenge against Franklin (Elk Grove, CA)
