The Kempsville Chiefs routed the host Great Bridge Wildcats softball squad by a final score of 8-2 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Chiefs (5-0) will now prepare for their battle against Tallwood (Virginia Beach, VA). The Lions go into the Beach battle with a 5-0 record. In their last battle, Tallwood held off Atlantic Shores Christian (Chesapeake, VA), 13-6, in a non-league battle.

The Wildcats now possess a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Hickory for a Southeastern battle on Tuesday, April 5. Great Bridge will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Indian River (Chesapeake, VA). The Hawks record now stands at 6-0.
