Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes (Schuylkill Haven, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jim Thorpe Olympians (Jim Thorpe, PA), 10-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Hurricanes now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Williams Valley for a Schuylkill II challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Schuylkill Haven will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 15-14 non-league win over Upper Dauphin Area (Elizabethville, PA). The Vikings record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Jim Thorpe falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Olympians host Shenandoah Valley (Shenandoah, PA) to battle the Blue Devils in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Shenandoah Valley won 13-9 in their recent league challenge against Panther Valley (Lansford, PA)
