Kennett Indians (Kennett, MO) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sparta Trojans (Sparta, MO), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Forsyth for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. Kennett will face a Panthers squad coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, MO). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Sparta falls to 6-1 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Salem (Salem, AR) to face the Greyhounds in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Salem won 15-3 in their recent league challenge against White County Central (Judsonia, AR)
