Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Patuxent Panthers (Lusby, MD), 12-5 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Mount de Sales Academy for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2.

With the loss, Patuxent falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Panthers host North Point (Waldorf, MD) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. North Point won 12-3 in their recent league challenge against Lackey (Indian Head, MD)
