St. Marys Blue Devils (St. Marys, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Parkersburg South Patriots (Parkersburg, WV), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Doddridge County for a Little Kanawha challenge on Monday, April 4. St. Marys will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Williamstown (Williamstown, WV). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Parkersburg South falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Hurricane (Hurricane, WV) to clash with the Redskins in a Mountain State game on Saturday, April 2. The Redskins come into the game with a record of 2-0. Hurricane won 4-3 in their recent league game against South Charleston (South Charleston, WV)
